What does it come from?
She’s read palms, rigged séances, and whispered lies for coin. In 1920, Sister Hood was just another con artist in lace and lace fronts—until her grift drew the wrath of the Scorekeeper and landed her in the cursed dimension known as Hyde Street. Now, a man named Mr. X-Ray walks through her parlor door. And he’s not here for a reading. He’s here to rewrite his fate, and hers.

Plot
This issue continues introducing the residents of Hyde Street, as they have been doing since issue #6 (it's a good idea to reread HYDE STREET VOL. 1). This time, it's Sister Hood's turn, the clairvoyant who uses her supposed powers of sleight of hand to deceive wicked people who fall into Hyde Street. Her deceptive tactics are detailed in the Sister Hood miniseries.

Currently, Mr. X-ray, Pranky, Matinee Monster,Mrs Goodbody and Doctor Ego have already been introduced. The Demon Within, Raquel Vane, and Green Blood, who trap souls for the even more mysterious and perverse Scorekeeper, are still to be revealed.

Sister Hood's Tarot cards begin to reveal mysterious figures, and one card disappears. She then heads to the castle where Matinee Monster lives, who is holding the mysterious Butcher of Hyde Street. Clarissa wants to speak with him because he knows too much about this cursed place called Hyde Street.

The comic then flashes back to 1920, when Clarissa (Sister Hood) and her sister Lucinda were swindling people by making them believe they were communicating with their deceased loved ones from beyond the grave. Lucinda regrets what they're doing, but Clarissa doesn't care; she only wants the money.

Everything changes when they are caught by the Scorekeeper, who offers them both a deal: one will be transformed into a dove as collateral, a constant reminder of what happens as long as the other sister continues collecting souls. Once she reaches ten million, she will be freed, and the one who became a dove will be forever a part of Hyde Street.

Clarissa has collected almost all the souls at an impressive speed, but her efficiency has slowed as she tries to figure out how to escape that place and save her sister from that eternal curse. She doesn't yet know how, but the Butcher of Hyde Street seems to, and he's blackmailing her. That's why he possesses the missing Tarot card with Pranky's image; the two are mysteriously linked.

This saga improves with each installment, each one revealing more mysteries that piece together this puzzle of cosmic mystery and horror.

Art
The art style offers intricate details thanks to its lighting, showcasing the cruelty of these abhorrent and vicious beings of Hyde Street. Mesmerizing and stunning.

Summary
The story of Sister Hood and her fear of completing the Scorekeeper mission is revealed, and new mysteries and clues emerge.
