Sinopsis

El pequeño y aislado pueblo pesquero de Large Mouth nunca fue muy emocionante, hasta la llegada del misterioso forastero. Envuelto en vendas de pies a cabeza y con unas gafas extrañas, se instaló discretamente en el tranquilo motel del pueblo. Impulsados por la curiosidad, los habitantes comienzan a desvelar los secretos que esconde.

Trama
A la fría y pequeña localidad de LARGE MOUTH en Canadá, llega un misterioso viajero totalmente envuelto por vendas y lentes oscuros, se llama John Griffen.
John es una persona tímida y recluida en la habitación del pequeño hotel de donde no sale casi, hasta que conoce a la joven Vickie, la adolescente que trabaja en el restaurante local, es hija del dueño y se encarga de llevarle la comida a su hotel, ya que Griffin alega que debido a un accidente le cuesta comer en público.
Aunque la gente se empezó a acostumbrar a la presencia de este misterioso hombre lleno de vendas, ocurren una serie de eventos que empiezan a revelar el origen de John y despertar el miedo por el pasado de este nuevo residente.
John es un científico que perdió a su esposa en un experimento fallido que le otorgó la invisibilidad total, por lo que este comic resalta justamente lo contrario, aunque es invisible, para los chismes del pueblo es muy visible y esta curiosidad empieza a despertar la paranoia en especial cuando desaparece una persona.
Este químico que le dio la invisibilidad a Griffen le causó severos problemas en su psique, donde tenía que mantenerse medicado para controlar las alucinaciones y ataques de paranoia, donde la amistad de John con Vickie se vio afectada y trastornada, la mente de John está confundida y cree que es su esposa. Sus alucinaciones siempre se relacionan en volver a conectarse con su esposa fallecida.
Pero todo tiene un giro cuando John es visitado por su ex-socio Kemp, quien lo amenaza en descubrirlo si no le da la fórmula de la invisibilidad, Griffen lo vuelve invisible, lo asesina y lanza al lago.
El cierre de esta historia trágica queda con un final abierto a libre interpretación pero con ciertas pistas de lo que le ocurrió al hombre invisible.
Esta reimaginación actual de este clásico de ciencia ficción/terror captura la esencia de este ser atormentado cuya invisibilidad termina siendo una maldición que contrasta con su vida social, que está dictada por chismes y se vuelve visible por obligación.

Arte
El arte es minimalista, donde las expresiones faciales y lenguaje corporal elevan los momentos dramáticos y misterio, todo en diferentes tonos azules y blanco que le dan una sensación nostálgica de otra época y ese frío gélido de la profunda soledad.

Synopsis

Plot
A mysterious traveler, completely wrapped in bandages and wearing dark glasses, arrives in the cold, small Canadian town of Large Mouth. His name is John Griffin.
John is a shy, reclusive man who rarely leaves his room at the small hotel. That is, until he meets Vickie, the teenage daughter of the owner who works at the local restaurant. Vickie delivers his meals to his hotel, as Griffin claims that an accident made it difficult for him to eat in public.
Although the townspeople begin to grow accustomed to the presence of this mysterious, bandaged man, a series of events unfold that begin to reveal John's origins and awaken fear about the past of this new resident.
John is a scientist who lost his wife in a failed experiment that granted him total invisibility. This comic highlights the opposite: although invisible, he is highly visible to the town's gossip, and this curiosity begins to fuel paranoia, especially when someone disappears.
The chemical that granted Griffen invisibility caused severe psychological problems, requiring him to remain medicated to control hallucinations and paranoid attacks. John's friendship with Vickie was strained and disrupted; his mind was confused, and he believed she was his wife. His hallucinations always revolved around reconnecting with his deceased wife.
But everything takes a turn when John is visited by his former partner, Kemp, who threatens to expose him unless he hands over the invisibility formula. Griffen renders Kemp invisible, murders him, and throws him into the lake.
The conclusion of this tragic story is left open to interpretation, but with certain clues about what happened to the invisible man.
This modern reimagining of this science fiction/horror classic captures the essence of this tormented being whose invisibility becomes a curse, contrasting sharply with his social life, which is dictated by gossip and where he becomes visible out of necessity.

It's minimalist, where facial expressions and body language heighten the dramatic moments and mystery, all in different shades of blue and white that give it a nostalgic feeling of another era and that icy chill of profound loneliness.
