It's a beautiful story about the friendship of two symbols of hope.

On sale September 17, the DEADPOOL/BATMAN one-shot marks the first crossover between the world’s greatest comic book companies in decades, soon to be followed in November by BATMAN/DEADPOOL #1, a one-shot published by DC. Both comics will deliver explosive sagas starring Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth and DC’s Caped Crusader along with backup stories that showcase additional team-ups and showdowns between legendary characters from both universes.

 

Fans can see even more unbelievable matchups on DEADPOOL/BATMAN’s variant covers. While Ribić’s cover spotlights the main event, Campbell and Larraz’s covers tease battles for two of the fiercest X-Men, pitting Psylocke against vigilante Huntress and Rogue against iconic Batman supervillain Poison Ivy!

 

DEADPOOL/BATMAN will be written by Zeb Wells and drawn by Greg Capullo. The backup stories include DAREDEVIL and GREEN ARROW by Kevin Smith and Adam Kubert, JEFF THE LAND SHARK and Krypto by Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru, CAPTAIN AMERICA and WONDER WOMAN by Chip Zdarsky and Terry Dodson, ROCKET RACCOON and GREEN LANTERN by Al Ewing and Dike Ruan, and WOLVERINE (Old Man Logan) and BATMAN (The Dark Knight Returns) by Frank Miller.

 

“Deadpool shows up when Gotham City is in imminent danger. The worst possible time,” Wells told IGN in a recent interview. “Batman doesn't have a lot of patience for Deadpool. And Wade's take on Batman is...complicated. In the most Deadpool way possible.”

 

“For me, it’s sort of working with the bookends of my career,” Capullo added. “I drew Deadpool when I was on X-Force years ago and, of course, I just did a long run on Batman. That’s pretty amazing to me.”

Justo en el Retailer Panel de la Comic-Con de San Diego, Marvel Comics reveló nuevas portadas variantes de Russell Dauterman, Daniel Warren Johnson y Frank Miller para DEADPOOL/BATMAN #1, el one-shot crossover de Marvel/DC que llegará a las librerías el 17 de septiembre y será seguido por BATMAN/DEADPOOL #1, un one-shot publicado por DC en noviembre. 

Ambos cómics presentarán historias principales explosivas que enfrentan al Mercenario Bocón de Marvel contra el Enmascarado de DC, junto con historias secundarias protagonizadas por equipos y enfrentamientos adicionales entre Marvel y DC.

La superestrella Russell Dauterman reveló recientemente una portada variante, un homenaje al Guantelete del Infinito #1 de George Pérez, que destaca muchas de estas historias, incluyendo una también anunciada en el panel que presenta a Mapache Cohete y Linterna Verde, escrita por el genio narrador cósmico Al Ewing e ilustrada por el aclamado artista Dike Ruan.

New York, NY— July 25, 2025 — Just now at the Retailer Panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Comics unveiled new variant covers by Russell Dauterman, Daniel Warren Johnson and Frank Miller for DEADPOOL/BATMAN #1, the Marvel/DC crossover one-shot hitting stands on September 17 that will be followed by BATMAN/DEADPOOL #1, a one-shot published by DC in November. Both comics will feature explosive main stories that pit Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth against DC’s Caped Crusader along with backup stories starring additional Marvel/DC team-ups and showdowns.

 

Superstar Russell Dauterman newly revealed variant cover, an homage to George Pérez’s Infinity Gauntlet #1, spotlights many of these tales including one also announced at the panel that features Rocket Raccoon and Green Lantern, written by mastermind cosmic storyteller Al Ewing and drawn by acclaimed artist Dike Ruan.

 

“The pairing of Rocket Raccoon and Green Lantern felt very random when I was assigned it, but you can chart a line between any two characters that'll take you through a kaleidoscope of connections between one universe and the other - and that's what we've done," shared Ewing.

 

Other DEADPOOL/BATMAN #1 variant covers showcased at today’s Retailer Panel come from acclaimed artist Daniel Warren Johnson and industry legend Frank Miller. In addition to his cover, Miller will be writing and drawing a backup story starring Wolverine from the dystopian Old Man Logan story arc and the future version of Batman from Miller’s comic book masterpiece, The Dark Knight Returns. Daniel Warren Johnson’s cover highlights a showdown between two iconic Jack Kirby creations, the Thing and Big Barda.
